Cherrywood is an established centrally located neighborhood in the heart of Austin. It borders Mueller to the east and Chestnut to the south. If you commute to downtown Austin, it is only three miles away which will take 10-15 minutes to get there. Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is six miles away and will take 12-20 minutes to commute there. If you want to go shopping in North Austin at the Domain Northside that is only ten miles away which is a 14-18 minute drive.
Being in Central Austin Cherrywood belongs to the Austin Independent School District. Many of the younger children will attend Maplewood Elementary School and Kealing Middle School. The older children will be at McCallum High School. Students at McCallum have a 96% graduation rate and score 155 points higher on the SAT compared to other public schools in Texas.
